[Wedding Wednesday]

Hello readers!  I thought I would start a new monthly (maybe weekly?) post about weddings! Wedding inspiration, wedding photos, and tips for planning weddings on a budget and with a unique style. Since my fiance and I started planning our own wedding, we have learned a lot of dos and don’ts. Looking forward to sharing our latest experiences and inspiration with all of you!

Today I’d like to talk about the grand exit. There are tons of ways to go out with a bang. Zachary and I went back and forth on a few ideas, but we settled on one that I think is really *us*. Of course I have to save some things for our actually wedding, so I’ll be keeping ours a surprise. But here are some of my favorite ideas (images via my Pinterest) :

The Sparkler:

Tip: Make sure you have a few people in charge of lighting, since sparklers go out fast! Lighting 5-10 at the same time seems to work best at the weddings I’ve shot.

Lanterns:

SO beautiful, right? Perfect for a fairytale exit – magic!

Signage:

I think these are adorable – totally something you could DIY (yes, that’s a verb now).

Ribbon wands:

Another DIY project! So fun : )

Exit via bicycle:

It might take a bit of practice, but exiting on a tandem bike would be a blast! Borrow one from a friend or rent one for the day at your local bike shop to try it out!

Hot air balloon?:

Okay, this might be a bit of a stretch for those of us on a budget – but I had to post it anyway! How amazing would this be?

So how would you make your grand exit? I’d love to hear your ideas!

Alicia O'Neil - Oh my gracious! Tandem bike?!? What the hecka! That is sooo cute though only someone who was super graceful could pull that off! I would totes rip my dress or something horrible like that. I vote weekly. :)

Franny | Portland Senior Portraits

It’s been a while since I’ve blogged a photo session – there are just so many to choose from now that I’m behind! Here is a senior session from this summer that I absolutely loved. Franny actually goes to school in Massachusetts, but had her photos taken with me while she was visiting Portland! She was so down to earth, and I had tons of fun on our phoot shoot! She is totally model material, right? And her hair & outfits were killer! Check out some of the shots we got below:

Leave Franny some love in the comments! And be sure to check out my Facebook Page for a mini giveaway I’m doing:)

Thrifted Thursday | Etsy Edition

Well, after a long break from blogging, I am happy to say that I’m back! It’s okay if you don’t believe me, I’ll earn your trust back soon : ). Let’s kick this off with another Thrifted Thursday – Etsy Edition! As I mentioned in a previous post, Etsy is an online store for all things vintage and handmade. Here are a few favorites from this week:

1. Vintage Cowboy Boots – faux leather, size 5, perfect heel height, $16. Love these! If only they were my size!

2. Pink Floral Lace Skirt – Maxi and midi skirts are super in right now, but you gotta love a good high-waisted mini. I could totally see this dressed for winter with tights, cute socks, boots, and a cropped cardigan. Size S/M, $32.

3. 80s Cropped Navajo Jacket – Okay, so I’m sort of obsessed with this kind of pattern lately – so pretty, right? Size S/M, $28.

4. Vintage Alarm Clock – I might have died a little when I saw this. Love love love. I could definitely see my future home decorated with vintage clocks. $28.

So what kinds of things would you like to see on this blog, now that I’m back? More thrifting tips? More photos? I’m definitely getting excited for next week’s very first “Wedding Wednesday” — hope you’ll check it out! And I’d love it if you said hello in the comments below, so I can get reacquainted with all my new & old readers.
